"Pitch Black"

Mind and body seem disconnected,
The heart aches from their battles,
Confusion rises within,
Doubt causes a disoriented glaze,
Covering the face so pale,
Life driven away by fear,
Disappears in a flash without saying goodbye,
Left breathless and shaky,
Darkness never broken by daylight,
Aimlessly my footsteps struggle,
Falling into never ending nightmares,
Where happiness is violently defeated,
Reaching out to only grasp air,
Quiet and empty in the bottomless pit,
Suffering alone my tears become visible,
Searching for help that never shows,
As my head hits the floor for the last time,
A faint voice shouting in the distance,
Distorted are the repeating words,
Out of nowhere a hand yanks me from this fire,
Forever hurt from not being heard,
Being taught the new meaning of forgiveness,
Penetrated deep the seed of anger,
Surgery has begun, time will heal all.
